Hello.
My name is Matilda

Things you may like to know about me:
-
I was born in 2002, The Midlands, and grew up near Liverpool
-
I am a multidisciplinary mixed media artist
-
I am currently studying Applied Arts at Glyndwr University, with a hope to add metal working into my disciplines
-
I work with photography, graphic design, illustration, collage, paper mechanics, embroidery, fibre arts, painting, found object re-imaginings, sculpture and contemporary social commentary art.
Things I would like you to know about me:
-
I live by a strong moral code of respect, kindness and compassion.
-
My work has many focuses, including the relationship between nature and man, gaps and spaces, and possibilities of existence.
-
I have a strong interest in science and maths, and am deeply in love with physics.
-
I aspire to reposition art in its rightful place alongside science and maths, as I believe these three things to be the most fundamentally intertwined elements of our existence.

"Boxes are limiting & labels are sticky"
when collating my art, the most difficult aspect is trying to group and define my projects and work. Reflecting back on the work I have done, the overlap of different techniques and media is a prominent feature of my most successful projects.
Organising my work into projects seems to be the best way to go, but I am still struggling to find the clear lines between each body of work, and I believe I am going to end up with many overlapping pages.
